  Notes	In the 1931 city directory, as Alf. E., he boards with his parents at 637 Summit Avenue W. In the 1935/36 Fergus Falls city directory, he was “Alf” and was a painter. He and Lillian lived at 640 Banana Avenue. In the 1937/38 Fergus Falls city directory, he and Lillian lived at 112 Fir Avenue East. Same in the 1939/40 Fergus Falls city directory. Noted as having personal property worth $20 in the January 26, 1954, edition of the FFDJ for school tax purposes for the Town of Dane Prairie. Or, in the same edition, he may be the Alfred Bye in the 2nd ward of Fergus Falls who had personal property worth $22. From the July 19, 1955, edition of the FFDJ: “Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Bye and son, Thomas, and Andrew Bye, returned from a trip along the North Shore of Lake Superior into Canada. They came home by way of Rainy River.” His obit noted that he had been paint foreman for the State Hospital in Fergus Falls and, during the war, he worked for Honeywell, spray-painting parts that were to be used in the war. He had been preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his siblings Julian, Margaret, Lillian, Eleanor, and Dorothy, and by his special friend Elma Heincke. Elma Heinecke was the mother of Alfred’s son Thomas’s wife Julie. Elma’s obituary, from October of 2002, listed Alfred Bye as a special friend who survived her. Elma worked at the Fergus Falls Regional Treatment Center which may be where she met Alfred.
