  Notes	SFjelstadG says that he emigrated 10 May 1867, arriving in Quebec City as Thore Jorgensen Pladsen. SFjelstadG goes on to note that the rest of Thore’s family came over in 1871, perhaps after Thore received his military pay and was able to buy a farm in Springfield. Thore also served in the US Army during reconstruction in Georgia after the civil war. He enlisted in Iowa as Thore Jorgensen, painter.
