Her baptismal sponsors were Erick Elthun, Ole Olsen Bøeeiet, Sigrid Knudsdatter Elthun, Anne Andersdatter Elthun, and Ingeborg Olsdatter Stende. She was living as Mrs. J. A. Selthun in Minot in 1921. In the 1930 census, she was the 83 year-old Emma H Selton, living in Minot with her son Ole, her daughter Ennis, and a divorced roomer named Oscar Johnson, a druggist. She was shown as married and having first been married at age 26.
