  Notes	Muriel Moen Hamre, 88, entered into her Father's house on December 29, 2014 surrounded by her families love. Muriel Jorunn Moen was born August 29, 1926 to Norwegian immigrants John and Mattie Moen who came as teenagers to North Dakota in the early 1900s. They met while both were working at a farm by Fort Ransom. She was born on a farm in Preston Township and baptized and confirmed at Preston Lutheran Church rural Nome, North Dakota. She also attended grade school at the Preston country school and finished her high school education at Enderlin High School and was a member of the Enderlin High School A Cappella Choir. Muriel attended Fargo Business College and went on to work as a clerk at Lockheed Aircraft in California towards the end of World War II. After a year at Lockheed she returned to her home near Enderlin to work as legal secretary for the Charles Bangert Law Firm in Enderlin. It was in Enderlin that she met her husband, Glennis Hamre. They were married February 20, 1949 at Preston Church. They moved to the family farm near Leonard, ND and raised their four children. She lived there until moving to Maryhill Manor in Enderlin in 2012. Muriel took great pride in her crocheting, knitting, gardening and yard work. Everyone in her family has received her knitted dish cloths, her favorite stocking stuffer or whatever gift. Birthdays were always the occasion for her fluffy angel food cakes with Cool Whip and strawberries. Both Muriel and Glen were active in church, civic, and local activities. One of their favorite involvements was the Red River Valley Fair where she met many special friends. Muriel was very happy when she was helping with the Fair's exhibitor picnics and was known as the chief watermelon server. Music was a large part of her life. She taught herself the art of chording on the piano and would accompany her father-in-law playing the fiddle and accordion, and later for her daughters as they sang at family get togethers. Muriel loved watching her grand kids' sports and school activities. Band and choir concerts, musicals, gymnastics, ice skating, basketball, football, softball, and especially baseball seasons you would see Muriel. She loved watching baseball at Hendrickson Field in Enderlin where she could have a famous Hendrickson hot dog, sit in her car to watch the game on the third base line while listening to the Twins on the radio. Muriel and Glen had three daughters and a son. Diane (Harley) Horsager, Lakeville, MN. Granddaughters Serena (Alex) Lovera and Maia, all of Minneapolis, MN. Jeff (Neva), at the farm at Leonard, ND. Grandchildren Haley (Pat) Kalina, Alexandria, MN and great grandchildren Samuel Glenn and Amelia Kalina. Grandchildren Kayl, Mackenzie, and Jorun, all of Leonard. Shelley (Brad) Zietz, Fargo, ND. Grandchildren Ben and Greta, both of Fargo. Sue Hamre (Tom) Smith of Peachtree City, GA.Muriel was preceded in death by her husband Glen, her parents, two sisters, Jendine (John) Hegg, Irene (George) Prim, and brother Jervil (Loraine) Moen.
