  Notes	Ellen Carpenter, 90, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, in Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, after a brief illness. Services: 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Trinity United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Kim Crummer. Burial: Aitkin, Minn., at a later date. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Teahen Funeral Home and after 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Survivors include a son, Kenneth and wife Maxine Carpenter of St. Cloud, Minn.; four sisters, Luella "Sally" Buck of Independence, Marian Scott of Albuquerque, N.M., Irene Vig of Cedar Rapids and Pauline Fulton of Aitkin, Minn.; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Ellen has gone to join her husband, Carl; a daughter, Karlene; her parents; two brothers, John and Chester Sherrets; and a sister, Alma Kimmerle. Born Dec. 15, 1910, in Walker, to Elbert and Annie Gunderson Sherrets, she married Carl Carpenter on Feb. 2, 1929, in Rowley. He died in 1984. She and Carl farmed for many years in Minnesota before moving to Cedar Rapids. Ellen was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Ellen loved her family, crocheting and growing and selling Christmas trees. She will be remembered for always being politically correct. Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army.
