      Services for Raymond A. Johnson, 90, were Thursday, January 29, at 11 a.m. at East Immanuel Lutheran church, rural Amery, with the Revs. Linda and Loren Schumacher officiating.

      Soloist was Jim Hagerud and organist was Jane Johnson.

      Casketbearers were Greg Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Samuel Johnson, Warren Irle, Terry Kolstad, Ryan Johnson and Nicholas Wondra. Interment was at the church cemetery with Williamson Funeral Home of Amery assisting the family.

      Raymond A. Johnson was born August 10, 1913, in St. Paul, the son of August and Minnie (Larson) Johnson. He was baptized in the Christian faith in St. Paul.

      The family moved to rural Deer Park when he was 1½ years old. They operated a family dairy farm which he eventually took over. They were members of East Immanuel Lutheran church where he was confirmed.

      On September 20, 1942, he was married to Isabel Ausen at Our Savior's Lutheran church, Amery, and four children were born.

      They continued operating the family farm. Their youngest son, Jerol, now operates the farm.

      Mr. Johnson was active in his rural community, serving on the East Immanuel church council and was president for many years. He was also a 4-H leader and was active with the FFA. He was sextant of the East Immanuel Cemetery for many years and served on the cemetery board. He was a member of the Gideons.

      When his health permitted, he continued helping on the farm, but the past few years health has been a struggle. He was living at Golden Age Manor, Amery, at the time of his death on Sunday, January 25.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Margaret and Genevieve.

      Survivors include his wife, Isabel; sons, Larry (Lenore) Johnson and Jerol (Jane) Johnson; daughters, Lynda (Jerry) Overman and Janice (Melvin) Wondra; three sisters, Ruth Irle, Marian Lindberg and Ardis Fredreich; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

      Raymond A. Johnson was born on August 10, 1913 in St. Paul, Minn., the son of August and Minnie (Larson) Johnson. He was baptized in the Christian Faith in St. Paul, Minn.       Left to mourn are his wife Isabel; sons, Larry (Lenore) and Jerol (Jane); daughters, Lynda (Jerry) Overman and Janice (Melvin) Wondra; three sisters, Ruth Irle, Marian Lindberg and Ardis Fredreich; eight grandchildren, Greg Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Samuel Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Nicholas Wondra, Katherine Wondra, Jennifer Drangstveit and Julie Overman; three great-grandchildren, Jason Drangstveit, Emma Drangstveit and Benjamin Drangstveit; other relatives and friends.

      Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 29 at East Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Amery with Revs. Linda and Loren Schumacher officiating. Soloist was Jim Hagerud. Organist was Jane Johnson. Casketbearers were Greg Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Samuel Johnson, Warren Irle, Terry Kolstad, Ryan Johnson and Nicholas Wondra. Interment was at the East Immanuel Cemetery. The Williamson Funeral Home, Amery assisted with arrangements.
