  Notes	In the 1910 census he is a railroad post office clerk living in Portal, Burke County, North Dakota. in the 1915 state census he and his family lived in Harvey Twp, Wells County, North Dakota. His World War I draft registration shows his birth date as 9 Aug 1881. At the time of that registration, he was a laborer for the Soo Railway Co in Enderlin, North Dakota. He was described as tall and slender with blue eyes and light hair. Emil and his family lived at 215 2nd Avenue in Enderlin, Ransom County, North Dakota, in the 1920 census. The household consisted of Emil F, 36, a yard clerk for the railroad, Catherine J, 35, Gladys, 10, Kathleen, 5, Frederick, 3, and Catherine’s sister Agnes Fautch, 26, and Catherine’s brother Alfonses Fautch, 24, a warehouseman for the railroad. The family lives in Pontiac Twp in Cass County, North Dakota, in the 1930 census. Emil is a farmer. In the 1940 census (incorrectly indexed as Wantland), the family lives in Pontiac Twp in the same house in which they had lived in 1935. Only Robert is still at home. A 10 year-old Lyle Aldrich, relationship not indicated, is also listed in the household. The Rogers/Nelson/Chesbro/Jordan and Knutson family trees on Ancestry have his birth date and death date wrong and, apparently, have him confused with someone else.
