Paul Jule Beithon, 89, a resident of Fergus Falls, MN, (formerly Wahpeton, ND) passed away peacefully on February 7, 2018 at Pioneer Care in Fergus Falls surrounded by his family.

Paul was born June14, 1928, in Hankinson, ND, to Elmer & Ruby (Jensen) Beithon, 2nd of 5 children. Paul was raised in Hankinson and graduated valedictorian at age 16 in 1945. He spent summers with his parents at Otter Tail Lake as a child. He was active in Scouting and became an Eagle Scout. He attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, where he graduated with a BS in Pre-Med. At UND, he was a member of Sigma Chi, Alpha Phi Omega (National Service Organization), and Kappa Kappa Pai (Honorary band fraternity). Paul attended Medical School at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha graduating in May 1952. He was a member of Phi Rho Sigma Fraternity (medical) while attending medical school. Paul met Marcia Suzanne (Sue) Leininger of McCook, NE, in Omaha. They were married in March 1951 in McCook. Paul spent his preceptorship with Sue’s father, Earl Leininger, a general practice physician, in McCook. He interned at Miller Hospital in St. Paul, MN. In July 1953, Paul joined his father’s medical practice at the Red River Valley Clinic (later MeritCare and then Sanford) in Wahpeton, ND. Paul served as a Captain in the U.S. Army and also served in the National Guard.

Paul & Sue remained in Wahpeton until 1997 where they raised 6 children. They built a family cabin on Otter Tail Lake where they spent summers sailing, fishing, skiing, singing around the piano, and just enjoying the lake. Paul spent many hours mowing, cooking, fixing, repairing, cleaning, singing, playing the piano at the cabin, tending to their golden retrievers, and was known as the lake doctor. He would tackle any project and never stopped learning. He read books and newspapers and always had a crossword puzzle in his pocket.

Paul believed in giving back to his community…civically, spiritually, and professionally. Paul served on the City Council in Wahpeton; as Mayor of Wahpeton; many diocesan leadership roles in the Episcopal Church of ND and MN and Senior Warden, Vestry, and Lay Minister of Episcopal Churches in Wahpeton and Fergus Falls; Board of Directors for ND SE Mental Health Center; President of the ND Medical Association; Delegate to the AMA; Board of Directors for the State Rehab Facility in ND; State Health Council (appointed by 3 different governors); Board of Directors for Norwest (Wells Fargo) Bank; Fairview Cemetery Board of Directors; Board of Directors for the Center for the Arts in Fergus Falls; Founding Board Member for the Kaddatz Gallery; Rotary (60+ years); Wahpeton Buffalo Club; American Legion; plus many other endeavors. He became a doctor so he could serve others which he did for over 40 years as a Family Practice Physician. He was very proud of the fact that he delivered over 2000 babies.

Paul will be remembered for encouraging others from grandchildren to governors, patients to co-workers, committee members to medical students, children to friends, and anyone he met. He will also be remembered for his generosity, hospitality, deep faith, work ethic, kindness, and gentleness. The world is a better place because of the life of Paul Beithon.

Paul was preceded in death by wife, Sue; his parents, Ruby & Elmer; his siblings, Patty (Al) Nelson, Bruce (Darlene) Beithon, Roger Beithon, and Mary Karen Beithon, and many close friends. Those left to strive to pass on Paul’s teachings and legacy are his children: John (Yarob Yaghi) Beithon of Eden Prairie, MN, Mark (Sharla) Beithon of Plymouth, MN, Ann (Richie) Smith of Wahpeton, ND, Peter (Jill) Beithon of Fergus Falls, Mary (Bill) Pettit of Fergus Falls, Carrie Beithon of Fergus Falls, and daughter-in-law, Pat Beithon of Minneapolis, MN; Grandchildren: Paul S. Beithon, Andrea Beithon, Ryan Yaghi, Tim (Erika) Beithon, Rachel Beithon, Kelly Smith, Kathleen Smith, Kierann (Jason) Toth, Conor Smith, Katie (Dylan) Dachtler, Brock (Nina) Beithon, Hannah (Dane) Carlson, Joey Pettit, Steven Vergiels, and Erik Vergiels; plus 12 Great-Grandchildren and 2 on the way. He is also survived by many, many friends, nieces and nephews, ‘adopted’ kids as well as his sister-in-law, Dorie Holen of Breckenridge.

BEITHON, Paul Jule (I23219)

Rebecca Nesset (Onasch), age 54, our angel, was called home unexpectedly on Jan. 21, 2016.

Becky was born on Sept. 19, 1961 to Sheldon and Janet Onasch.

She is survived by her husband Kevin, two beautiful daughters, Brianna and Brittany, sister Kim, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins that loved her.

She was predeceased by her grandfathers Arthur Onasch and Kermit Wallin, her grandmother Martha Onasch, her father Sheldon Onasch, and her mother Janet Onasch.

Anyone who knew Becky knew what a strong and amazing woman she was. Her positive attitude, infectious smile and determination was truly an inspiration. She will be missed by all.

ONASCH, Rebecca Lynne (I34275)

Ruth Pauline Hesnard nee Rosenau, Mom, nana, grandnana, most recently of Portland, Oregon, but, for almost 50 years, of Sacramento, California, passed away December 27th, 2022 after recently being diagnosed with Abdominal Cancer.

Ruth was born Friday, January 13, 1933 in Dallas, Oregon to Dora and Otto Rosenau. After graduating from Perrydale School, Ruth moved to Salem, Oregon, where she met George Emil Hesnard Jr. They wed in 1954 and moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon They went on to have 2 children, Debby and Sandy and celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary prior to George's death in 1999.

After moving to Sacramento, California, Ruth entered employment with the State California. While with the State of California, she pursued 2 degrees in business and worked with several departments during her career of close to 4 decades.

Ruth retired from the State of California in 1995 but went on to work with Costco for close to 20 years. She also volunteered for Kaiser Permanente, Sacramento Police, and Adventist Health.

Ruth was always an avid walker and loved to walk her dogs. She was a Norman Rockwell artwork enthusiast and even visited his residence after her retirement in 1995. After moving to Portland, Oregon in 2016, she enjoyed playing cards and doing puzzles with her many friends at Cherrywood Village. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her 3 year old great-grandson, Quinn. Her friends and family recall her bright smile and for being one of the kindest, sweetest, nicest people around.

Ruth was predeceased by her parents, her husband, George, in 1999, and her daughter, Sandy, in 2015, and her sister, Betty, in 2021. She is survived by her daughter, Debby, her granddaughters, Jen and Chrissy, and her great-grandson, Quinn.

ROSENAU, Ruth (I39168)

Sara E. Dotzler, 98, Aitkin, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at the Aicota Health Care Center in Aitkin.

Sara was born April 7, 1918, in Irondale Township of Crow Wing County, the daughter of Grover and Martha (Hatton) Banks. She grew up and attended schools in Aitkin. She then attended teacher’s normal school in Crosby. She taught school at White Oak, Pine Knoll and the Jungle School.

She married Frank W. Dotzler on Sept. 6, 1941, in Aitkin. They made their home in Cuyuna for several years and then moved to Cedarbrook where she lived until 2013. She worked at the Aitkin County Courthouse in the auditors office for a number of years and in 1968 started working for the Aitkin Independent Age. She worked for the newspaper until her retirement in 1998. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Aitkin. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, reading, canning, birds and cats.

She is survived by children and spouses: Ruth (Gerald) Erickson, Minnetonka; Elaine (Roland) Schafer, Oak Park; Eileen Ternus, Dent; Phillip (Judy) Dotzler, Aitkin; Ronald (Sharon) Dotzler, Aitkin; daughters-in-law: Linda Dotzler, Aitkin and Carol Dotzler, Aitkin; 19 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Frank; sons: William and Donald; five brothers and five sisters.

Burial will be in the St. Thomas Cemetery in Aitkin.

Mary Ann Bartlett, 80 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the St. Cloud Hospital. She was surrounded by her daughters, Renae and Michele and her sister, Carol. A Funeral Service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, January 3, 2019 at Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery north of Little Falls. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday and from 11 AM to 12 noon Friday in the chapel.

MaryAnn was born on March 28, 1939 in Windom, MN to John and Dorothy Martin. MaryAnn was the oldest of six children. She spent her childhood in Windom and Mountain Lake, MN. Moving to St. Cloud in 1960, Maryanne raised 4 daughters Cheryl, Dawn, Renae & Michele. Maryann is a member of the Riverside Bible Church in Little Falls, MN, which she loved to attend. She lived in California for 23 years, working in the Accounting/Finance field, and later became the owner and operator of MaryAnn’s Day Care. She returned to Little Falls 19 years ago, where she married Clifford Ratzlaff on October 17, 2009.

MaryAnn’s hobbies were cooking and baking and she loved to try new recipes. She also spent a lot of time canning fruits, vegetables, jams, soups, pie fillings, the majority from their garden. Cliff and MaryAnn loved to take long drives in the country stopping for picnic lunches. They loved to entertain people with home cooked meals in her home. Her family paid this tribute to her, “MaryAnn was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, she opened her heart and home to anyone, her smile and laugh were infectious, she will be sorely missed.”

MaryAnn is survived by her husband, Clifford Ratzlaff; 3 daughters, Cheryl (Virgil) Villanueva of Pahrump, NV, Renae (Bill) Quon of Morgan Hill, CA and Michele Schendzielos (Donny Schlichting) of Sauk Rapids, MN; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and1 great-great grandchild; 3 sisters, Carol Budde, Phyllis Larson and MaryLou Willard; two sisters-in-law, Marlene Williams and Joyce Bartlett; brother Dave Martin; brother-in-law, Gerald Bartlett and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

MaryAnn was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Lyle Williams; 2nd husband, Wallace Bartlett; daughter, Dawn; sister, Betty and brother, Sam.

Seabright, Nicole Suzanne "Niki", age 45 of Eagan Passed away March 22, 2020 Niki, who is formerly from Rochester, MN and Birmingham, MI, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Sunday at her home with family by her side.

She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was born in 1974 in Spring Valley, MN. Niki is preceded in death by her father David Bredeson. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Ryan Seabright (college sweethearts that married in 2000); her children Tyler (16) and Zachary (13); mother Donna (Thomas) Gauthier; brothers Chad, Cory and Matt (Heidi) Bredeson; stepsisters Lori (Phil) Melhorn and Diane (Greg) Osland; stepbrother Michael (Stacy) Gauthier; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Niki was raised in Leroy and Rochester, MN. She graduated in 1992 from Rochester John Marshall High School and graduated from Minnesota Riverland Technical College (Human Services) in 1995. She dedicated her life to working with children with disabilities. She was a Special Education Paraprofessional at Mendota Elementary School in Mendota Heights, MN. Niki also loved to volunteer and was a former PTA President, as well as Cubmaster and Den Leader for Cub Scouts. She LOVED flamingos. She also loved her many friends and her students. Niki was always willing to help anyone at any time; she was giving, selfless, and generous. She loved being a godmother and organizing as well.

She married Stanlee A Spalding in Carson City, Nevada, on 21 Nov 1970 as Carolyn A Johnson. Seems to be called Carol in Stanlee’s obit. She had three children before marrying Stanlee: Brenda, Brian, and Susan.
