His parents were of Narums when he was born according to the birth entry in the Land parish record.

He and Berte were 26 in the 1865 census and were on the Jenserud farm in Land. Ole was an inderst and day laborer. The owner of the farm (a husmann med jord) was Mikael Ellingsen, the husband of Ole’s wife’s older sister Mari Endresdatter.

His son Martin’s death record in Minnesota Deaths and Burials refers to him as Ole Haugern.

In the 1900 Norwegian census, he is probably the Ole Haugerud, b. 1841, a husmand med jord on Haugerud nedre (“under 9”) in Søndre Lands. Living with him on that farm are his wife Berthe, b. 1842, son Johan, b. 1883, son-in-law Kristen, b. 1877, daughter Marie, b. 1886, daughter Andrine (wife of Kristen), b. 1877, and two grandchildren: Kristine, b. 1898, and Oskar, b. 23 Nov 1899.

The plass referred to as Haugerud was referred to in birth records as Ründtomeie, part of Farm 9. The children and grandchildren from Emil on were born on Ründtomeie. There may have been more than one husmannsplass associated with Ründtom so the designation Ründtomeie may encompass many plasses.

The plass Nordraak, where Karoline was born, is also on Farm 9.

He and Berte were living on Haugerud nedre in the 1910 Norwegian census. The head of household was their son-in-law Kristen Pedersen.

Notes:

A Christian Christiansson, son of Christian Amunssen and Beste Sÿversdatter, and born 30 Apr 1812, was confirmed in Land on 8 Oct 1826. His farm of residence appears to be Nebÿsjo.

The Land, Oppland, parish record seems to show a Christian Christiansen marrying a Karen Olsdatter on 10 Nov 1836 (in Fleebergs?). He was from Norbye and she was from Nordreng. He was 25, she was 24. His father was Kristian Amundsen, hers was Ole Knudsen.

The 1865 census for Land shows a Kristian Kristianssen, Husmd md Jord, on the Skougstad farm in 0536 Søndre Land. His household consists of himself, 54, his wife Karen Olsdatter, 54, their unmarried sons Andreas, 22, Bernt, 20, and Karl, 12, and, supposedly, their (probably one of their son’s) daughter Agnete Kristiansdatter, 3. Everyone had been born in Lands.

Regarding that Agnete, there seem to be no good matches in the birth record. The best:
