    Regarding his date of death, the Dalby Database, Find A Grave, and his gravestone all show October 25th. The MHS Death Index shows October 15th. It’s more likely that the index is incorrect than the gravestone.

    In the 1880 census, he is recorded as Fredrick Blach. He and his family live in York County, Nebraska. He and his wife were born in Prussia. According to postings on Ancestry’s Bloch board, there were a number of Blochs who came to Nebraska from Pozen. Fredrick is likely a sibling or cousin of, for example, Gustav (wife Emelie) Bloch and/or Herman Rudolph Bloch. These Blochs were German Lutherans.

    In the 1895 state census, he and Augusta and family live in Rose Hill in Cottonwood County.

    He is a farmer in the Rose Hill Twp of Cottonwood County at the time of the 1900 census. He came to the U.S. in 1873 and his wife in 1877.

    He and his family live in Rose Hill Twp, Cottonwood County in the 1910 census. He came to the U.S. in 1873, his wife in 1887.

    He and Augusta and Laura live in Westbrook Twp, Cottonwood County, at the time of the 1920 census. In that census, Frederick and “Agusta” both claim to have been born in Pozen, Germany, and that their mother tongue was German.

    In the 1930 census, she is Augusta Block of Cottonwood County, Westbrook Twp, Minnesota. She is the head of a household that includes her divorced daughter Augusta Burgess and Augusta’s children Clyde, Willis, and Janett.

    In the 1940 census, she lived with her daughter Laura and family in Lakefield, Minnesota.
