  Notes	In a October 18, 1984, letter to Cora, Benetta writes: "Sylvan N. has the Sever and Bertha Bowe Nundahl grandparents' place. Lots of memories there as I helped Grandma a lot." He was listed as the “very special friend” of Geraldine Iona Swiggum Everson in her obituary of her death on April 13, 2008. A Man With A Pure Heart: Sylvan Bernard Nundahl, 91, of Viroqua died Feb. 20, 2016. He was born July 4, 1924, to Tilman and Selma (Simonson) Nundahl on the Viroqua family farm. After being a Norwegian bachelor farmer for 50 years, he married Mabel (Vig) in Aug. 1974, in Viroqua. Sylvan was a lifelong member of Kickapoo United Lutheran Church and enjoyed sharing his skilled fiddling talent for over 75 years, but only after milking his cows by hand and working in tobacco. He was a truly a man of pure heart, and was caring to everyone. Sylvan is survived by his sister, Burnelle (Nundahl) Crumrine; brother-in-law, Robert Crumrine; and sister-in-law, Leona (Gordon) Nundahl; nieces and nephews, Selma (Mike) Wright-Savage, Monte Crumrine, Linda (Bob) Morrison, Gene (Bonnie) Nundahl, Deb (Brad) Strupp; step-daughter, Cindy (Vig) Johnson; many great-nephews and nieces; great-great-nephews and nieces; and several step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mabel; brother, Gordon; and nephews, Tony Nundahl and Robert (Bobby) Crumrine. With Pastor Chuck Miller presiding, a Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at Kickapoo United Lutheran Church. Future private burial. Arrangements made by Sime Funeral Home.
