  Notes	JoanErickson82’s Erickson Family Tree on Ancestry has a completely different, and erroneous, Wallace Erickson as the son of John and Myrtle. According to Cora’s diary, Wally graduated, probably from law school, on June 14, 1947. Wally was a pallbearer at Bess’s funeral. Living at 2155 Zane Avenue North in Golden Valley at the time of his mother’s death. He was a trust officer for many years with Northwestern National Bank. The Minneapolis Star’s “Town Topper” column on 4 Dec 1959 highlighted Wally for his work with the Y’s Men and their Christmas Tree sale. That article said that Wally attended Marshall High School, Augsburg College, and the U of Minnesota. After four years of night courses, he graduated from the William Mitchell College of Law in 1956. He worked in the advertising department at the Minneapolis Star and Tribune during the years he took the night courses from William Mitchell. With his new law degree, he moved on to Northwestern bank in 1956. At the time of the article, he and his family had recently moved into their new house at 2155 N. Zane Avenue in Golden Valley on the southwest corner of Zane Avenue and Westmore Way. The article also mentions that Wally was treasurer and council member of Peace Lutheran Church. He was born February 15, 1923 to Myrtle and John Erickson in Mpls, MN. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Jackie. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean (Fox), whom he married in 1947; and children, Kristen (Lenny Lang), Outing, MN, Carla (J. Edward Windhorst), Chicago IL, and Paul (Afsaneh), Golden Valley; 5 grandchildren, Aaron Lang, Michael Lang, Daniel Lang, David Erickson, and Leah Erickson; and many other loving relatives & friends. Wally was a graduate of the University of MN and the William Mitchell College of Law. He furthered his studies and received his Juris Doctor in 1969. He spent 30 years at Wells Fargo Bank in the estate planning and trust department and became a vice president. He was Director of Development for Courage Center and then went into private practice serving his clients in trusts and estate planning. He enjoyed being with his family, playing golf, and starting/continuing traditions. He has been actively involved in Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity, American Swedish Institute, Svenska Salliskapet, Y's Men, Courage Center, Shriners Hospitals for Children, Carlson School of Management, and Valley of Peace Lutheran Church. Memorial Service 10:00 AM Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004 at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel. An entry in Margaret Morris’s column in the Minneapolis Tribune on 27 Jun 1975 notes that Wally was the president of the Svenska Sallskapet (Swedish Society) which held its 50th anniversary party at the Swedish Institute.
